Talking about shopping, well as it is just starting to patch up the pieces savaged by the civil wars of the late 1980s and the early 1990s, we cannot really boost so much about Somaliland's shopping scene. It does not have New York's vibrant and bustling shopping districts nor Hong Kong's maddeningly impressive shopping malls. Not even close to Philippine's assorted bargain districts like Divisoria. Among them are myrrh and frankincense, henna and qasil-based personal products such conditioners, body cleansers and hair dyes. The country is rich with natural resources necessary for the production of such consumer products. Thus, it need not come as surprise that you will find these stuff in the country at relatively cheap prices. In fact, some personal care companies from Europe, Saudi Arabia and other countries are sourcing their raw materials from Somaliland because of the abundant supply and affordable cost raw materials. Another great thing to go for shopping in Somaliland are jewels. Being part of the Mozambique belt, which is know to be rich in gem, the trade for gem stones in country is pretty alive. In fact, in its capital city, Hargeisa, gem stonecutters and gold traders abound. So if you are on the hunt of bargains on gold and precious gems, believe that your effort will never be in vain.
