This site was established in 2008, as a result of a study conducted by Engineer Abdi Sanyare. The study focused on ways to develop tourism in Somaliland. The study stated that Somaliland was very rich in terms of nature and culture tourism. However, the country was not investing and promoting its tourism resources efficiently to attract tourists.

The study concluded that it was very important to establish an online information portal which is dedicated to promoting and marketing Somaliland tourism to international visitors. It recommended that such portal should include all tourism related agencies in both public and private sectors and adopt the function system of the private sector in order to evade the bureaucracy of the public sector.

Our aims and objectives are:

• To promote and advance Somaliland as a tourism destination

• To advocate quality improvements to tourism infrastructure and services

• To work to maximise the benefits of tourism for Somalilanders and the local economy

• To act as a partnership organization for Somaliland's tourism industry
